The Digital Ocean Forum 2025 (DOF), to be held on 27–28 November in Brussels, back-to-back with the EMODnet Open Conference 2025 as part of an EC Marine Knowledge Week, will convene EU institutions, scientific partners, and marine data initiatives to advance the European Digital Twin Ocean (EDITO)—a cornerstone of the EU Ocean Pact.
EMODnet experts will contribute across multiple sessions over the two days. On Day 1, EMODnet will feature in the session “How the operational Copernicus Marine and EMODnet services are harnessing the European Digital Twin Ocean platform”, alongside partners from Mercator Ocean International (MOI). EMODnet representatives will also take part in discussions on community engagement, cascading grants, and hands-on onboarding to the EDITO platform, as well as in the technical wrap-up of the first day’s workshops.
On Day 2, EMODnet will join partners from MOI and VLIZ in the interactive session “Ready to onboard the EDITO platform? Your easy onboarding journey”, contributing to the dialogue on user engagement and data integration within EDITO.
With contributions from the European Commission (DG RTD, DG MARE, DG DEFIS, DG ENV, DG INTPA, and DG CNECT), the Forum will serve as a key moment to strengthen collaboration across Europe’s marine data ecosystem and chart the path toward a connected, interoperable European Digital Ocean.
