Lineage
Statement | The source data was recorder using either NVC Phase 2 methodology or Intertidal Phase 1 methodology. The habitats were mapped using GIS against either OS maps or Aerial photographs. The NVC Saltmarsh layer was identified as most accurate of the three layers collated and therefore forms the base of the collation. All polygons extracted from the Phase 1 Intertidal Saltmarsh data that intersect with the NVC polygons were erased. Where 2 NVC survey overlap the most recently surveyed is taken as the most accurate. All polygons from the 1:50,000 OS map that intersect with either the NVC Saltmarsh layer or the extracted Phase 1 Intertidal Saltmarsh were also erased. Boundaries digitised to 1:10,000 or 1:50,000 base maps Original classification: Marine Habitat Classification for Britain and Ireland Translated classification: EUNIS version 2007-11 |
