Algemene beschrijving herkomst

A first inventory of Martinique's wetlands was carried out in 2005. Today, this inventory is being updated. The objective is to identify and characterise all the wetlands in the department in order to provide the various stakeholders and managers with the necessary tools to implement a policy for the protection of Martinique's natural heritage. This update also makes it possible to refine the 2005 inventory and to report on the evolution of wetlands between the two periods. Following feedback from the Communauté d'Agglomération de l'Espace Sud de la Martinique (CAESM), a correction was made, on 20/11/2018, on one of the surfaces (685_2012 ) where the Commune code contained an error. In February 2023, Ifremer converted the original dataset into EMODnet standard and uploaded it on EMODnet portal.
