Continental Slope Marine Habitats

This map shows benthic marine habitats on the Continental Slope in offshore Irish waters. MBES bathymetry and its derivatives slope, rugosity and variability, were used to delineate geomorphological features. Coral carbonate mounds were verified using video footage captured using an ROV. Backscatter data were interpreted into broad habitat types and groundtruthed using sediment samples.
