The data called Estimated in case the companies did not reply to the emails. |In the framework of the project BIOMASS (https://biobs.jrc.ec.europa.eu/page/biomass-assessment-study-jrc) a joint workshop between JRC, FAO and the COST Actions Phycomorph and Eualgae was organized where the knowledge gaps and needs regarding algae biomass production were discussed. In this workshop, using as starting point the results of the questionnaire sent to the industry, the importance of gathering knowledge about the algae industry sector was discussed and highlighted. As a first step in this project we are collecting information on the location of the production facilities, group of produced organism (macro/microalgae) and production method ( Photobioreactors, Open ponds, Photobioreactors and open ponds; land-based, off-shore and coastal aquaculture or harvesting).
