Purpose	Substrate classes were generated from the analysis of MBES data collected as part of the INFOMAR national seabed mapping programme. Rock outcrops were digitised from shaded relief imagery. Supervised classification of the acoustic classes identified from backscatter imagery into sediment classes were done using sediment samples collated from the aforementioned seabed mapping programme.
