The records in this dataset were and will be derived from past and ongoing infauna monitoring efforts in the Israeli continental shelf at depths from 5-100 m performed by the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research (IOLR), a governmental marine research institute.

The Mass Mortality Events database (hereafter MME-T-MEDNet) is a collaborative initiative involving more than 30 research institutions from 10 Mediterranean countries including EU and non-EU countries. This initiative aims to facilitate the access to information (published in scientific journals and gray literature or still unpublished) related to Mediterranean Mass Mortality Events (MMEs).

Fish and marine invertebrates caught with trawl surveys (fish and shrimp trawls) from the Mediterranean continental shelf and upper slope of Israel from 1990 to 2012 (1990-1994, 2000, and 2008-2012).
