EMODnet stakeholder workshop explores harmonized data management in offshore licensing procedures

In addition to this, the workshop explored if a harmonized approach for data management in offshore licensing procedures is desirable. Expert presentations from Italy, Malta, Estonia, France, the United Kingdom and Bulgaria shed light on current practices in member states, initiating discussions on the feasibility and desirability of a harmonized approach. Participants emphasized the potential benefits of harmonization, including improved accessibility, comparability and usability of data. The majority of attendees advocated for a more harmonized approach at the EU level. With around 65 participants actively engaging in discussions, the workshop laid the foundation for the development of a roadmap towards more coherent data management within offshore licensing procedures.
