The map consists of cells measuring 100x100 meters and provides the distribution of important marine habitats of conservation importance, such as Posidonia oceanica meadows (Habitats 1120), Cymodocea nodosa meadows (Habitats 1110), and reefs (Habitats 1170), in the coastal waters of Cyprus under the European Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC). The source of the data is the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (DFMR), within the projects 'Mapping and evaluation of Posidonia meadows and other important marine habitats under the European Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC)’ (0-50 m, data created 09/2022 at 1:10000 scale), ‘Cyprus shelf seabed mapping’ (50-250 m, data created 04/2019 at 1:20000 scale) and ‘Mapping coralligenous formations and maerl beds using mb data’ (50-250 m, data created 10/2023 at 1:20000 scale)

The map shows the distribution of nursery areas in the Italian seas in autumn of Aristeus antennatus. Species data, collected during national trawl survey campains in the period 1994-1996, were elaborated using spatial analysis. The distribution maps were included on a CDROM in their native GIS format and also in PDF format. For more information refer to "GD Ardizzone, F Corsi, S Agnesi, 1999 - Atlante delle Risorse Ittiche Demersali Italiane triennio 1994-1996. Ministero per le Politiche Agricole (RM)

Submarine volcanic structures and eruption centers including hydrothermal activity, mapped by various national and regional mapping projects and recovered in the literature (points, lines and polygons). Locally polygons are extended on land to include the emerged portions of the volcanoes. Polygons represent areas larger than 10 hectares. Note: blank areas do not necessarily correspond to no occurrence.
-
Locations of relevant events delivered by National Partners and not reported on the Seismic Portal (EMSC website: https://www.seismicportal.eu/).

Index map of all European seas reporting areas of occurrence, no occurrence and no data for each kind of event in every sea. Representation refers to the item Landslide. In order to obtain information on the distribution of other events click on the polygon of your interest to visualize the attributes of other items.

Fluid emissions of volcanic and non volcanic origin and mud-volcanoes on seafloors, mapped by various national and regional mapping projects and recovered in the literature. Polygons represent areas larger than 10 hectares. Note: blank areas do not necessarily correspond to no occurrence.

Submarine landslides, detectable on the seabed, outcropping or buried, mapped by various national and regional mapping projects and recovered in the literature (points, lines and polygons). Locally landslides are extended on land to include their origin. Polygons represent areas larger than 60 hectares. Note: blank areas do not necessarily correspond to no occurrence.

Points represent areas smaller than 60 hectares. Polygons represent areas larger than 60 hectares. Note: blank areas do not necessarily correspond to no occurrence.
