Abundance data (individuals.100 m-3) of planktonic cnidarians collected during the Camadas Finas III oceanographic cruise along the North Brazilian continental shelf between the Amazon and Oyapok river mouths and equatorial Atlantic oceanic waters between 8°N, 51°W and 3.5°S, 37°W. Data was obtained during the oceanographic cruise Camadas Finas III, aboard the research vessel NHo. Cruzeiro do Sul - H38 (DHN/Brazilian Navy), performed in 9-31 October 2012. Planktonic cnidarians were sorted from zooplankton samples collected at at 44 stations in oblique hauls, using Bongo nets with 120 and 300 µm mesh and 0.3 and 0.6 m mouth diameter, respectively. The water column was sampled from near the bottom to the surface over the continental shelf and from 200 m to the surface in the offshore. The net was towed at approximately 2 knots, at various times of day and night. EMODnet Chemistry aims to provide access to marine chemistry datasets and derived data products concerning eutrophication, acidity, contaminants and marine litter. The importance of the selected substances and other parameters relates to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). This aggregated dataset contains all unrestricted EMODnet Chemistry data on floating micro-litter. This dataset is the result of a validation and harmonisation process of the datasets concerning floating micro-litter present in EMODnet Chemistry. The datasets concerning micro-litter are automatically harvested and the resulting collections are harmonised and validated using ODV Software and following a common methodology for all sea regions. Parameter names are based on P01 vocabulary, which relates to BODC Parameter Usage Vocabulary and is available at: https://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/search_nvs/P01/ . This process was performed by ‘Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale, Division of Oceanography (OGS/NODC)’ from Italy. Harmonisation means that: (1) unit conversion is carried out to express variables with a limited set of measurement units and (2) merging of variables described by different “local names”, but corresponding exactly to the same concepts in BODC P01 vocabulary. The harmonised dataset can be downloaded as ODV collection that can be opened with ODV software for visualization (More information can be found at: https://www.seadatanet.org/Software/ODV ). The same dataset is offered as spreadsheet (txt format, tab separated values) where the values of the categories for the following reported parameters (type, shape, size, color, transparency and material) have been uniformed as labelled in the SeaDataNet H01, H02, H03, H04, H05, H06 vocabularies (https://vocab.seadatanet.org/search ). This format is more adapted to worksheet applications (e.g. LibreOffice Calc).

The data concerns the structure and morphometry of the seagrasses Zostera marina and Zostera noltei, the diversity of the associated epifauna and the benthic fluxes of oxygen, carbon and nutrients. The dataset includes 103 sampling events divided among four sites and spread across three distinct marine biogeographic regions (i.e. the English Channel, Bay of Biscay and Western Mediterranean), and up to five seasons, depending on the site. The sampling scale allows inter-site and intra-habitat comparisons . Environmental conditions are also described at the site scale. As the most comprehensive and broadscale French dataset on seagrass structure and functioning to date, it is useful for both data analysis and management actions. Abundance data (individuals.m-3) of large microzooplankton assemblages collected during two “Acoustics along the Brazilian coast” surveys ((ABRACOS 2)-[https://doi.org/10.17600/15005600]) performed along the northeast Brazilian continental shelf and slope between 5 and 9° S and around oceanic seamounts and islands from Fernando de Noronha ridge, including the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago itself and the Rocas Atoll. The surveys were carried out on board the French oceanographic vessel R/V Antea in austral spring (September–October 2015) and autumn (April–May 2017). Planktonic cnidarians were sorted from zooplankton samples collected at 34 and 45 stations in spring and autumn, respectively. Samples were collected through oblique hauls, with a Bongo net with a 64 µm mesh size and 0.3 m mouth opening. The water column was sampled from near the bottom to the surface over the continental shelf and from 200 m to the surface in the offshore. The net was towed at approximately 2 knots, at various times of day and night. This dataset contains an inventory of the benthic fauna of the Tunisian coasts by bottom trawling and dredging. The objectives are not known. We assume that this is an exploratory seabed trawling survey to assess the fishing possibilities in the region with this gear. We know that the inventory was written by Jacques Ancellin (director of the Boulogne-sur-Mer laboratory after the Second World War and he joined the OSTPM in 1942). The two SOMLIT-Wimereux time-series data characterize hydrology and plankton biomass and diversity of the eastern English Channel near Boulogne sur mer, located at 50°40,75'N and 1°31,17'E and 1° 24,64'E . Fortnightly measurements have been undertaken since 1998 by a laboratory involving the CNRS, University of Lille and ULCO, named the Laboratory of Oceanology and Geoscience (UMR 8187 LOG) since 2008 (https://log.cnrs.fr). The SOMLIT-Wimereux observation station is a part of the French monitoring network SOMLIT (https://www.somlit.fr/), accredited by the CNRS as a national Earth Science Observatory (Service National d’Observation : SNO). It aims to detect the long-term evolution of these ecosystems including both natural and anthropogenic forcings. The development of a systematic approach to observing coastal environments is the result of local initiatives, based either on opportunities or on a tradition of scientific culture specific to each Marine Station / Marine Laboratory. The federation of these efforts by four French coastal stations (Roscoff, Arcachon-Bordeaux, Marseille, and Villefranche-sur-Mer), through RESOMAR, led to the establishment of the Service d'Observation en Milieu Littoral (SOMLIT) in 1995. In 1996, SOMLIT was accredited by the INSU (Ocean-Atmosphere domain), giving it the status of National Observation Service (SNO). The first banked data appeared in January 1997. Following new evaluations, SOMLIT was again accredited in 2001, 2005, 2009, 2015, and 2020. Since its creation, various Marine Stations have joined SOMLIT: 1996: Roscoff, Arcachon-Bordeaux, Marseille, and Villefranche-sur-Mer 1997 : Banyuls-sur-Mer 1998 : Wimereux and Brest 2007 : Luc-sur-Mer 2011 : La Rochelle 2012 : Dinard 2015 : Sète 2017 : the station of Anglet started the acquisition of SOMLIT parameters. It is not yet in the labelled perimeter. SOMLIT currently includes 11 Marine Stations / Marine Laboratories within its certified perimeter and a Marine Station that acquires data according to SOMLIT protocols. In addition to the acquisition of all the parameters collected under the SNO SOMLIT, additional samples are taken by some LOG researchers to support other SNOs (PHYTOBS, U. Christaki) and related research activities related to the characterization of microbial diversity using molecular tools (S. Monchy & U. Christaki), microbial and phytoplanktonic dynamics using automated approaches (F. Artigas), photosynthetic activity using automated variable fluorescence (F. Lizon) and zooplankton diversity (A. This dataset includes all the CHALIST surveys between 1983 and 1992, that is five surveys undertaken in 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1992. The aim of CHALIST surveys was to evalute the demersal resources of the Gulf of Lion in order to monitor annual variations of the main commercial species in terme of spatial distribution, average weight and size and age compositions and abundance indices. All the target species collected were identified, weighted and counted. Length measurements were also carried out for a number of species. In the framework of the R/V Cornide de Saavedra (Spanish Institute of Oceanography, IEO) field works, a continuous thermosalinometer (TSG) recorder was installed in 2006. From this moment, daily data was sent to the IEO datacenter until the end of the vessel activity in 2013. After a detailed quality control/quality asessment revision, that includes checking the clock, position, and recorded temperature, salinity and fluorometry values, the whole dataset is provided with quality flags (QF) that improved their usability. Datafiles and the QF follow the seadatanet.org standards. Pressure, temperature, conductivity, and derived salinity data with their associated quality flags from the Vigo section of the monitoring program "Oceanography Time Series in Northern Spain" (RADIALES; https://www.seriestemporales-ieo.net/), carried out by the Instituto Español de Oceanografía. Data were collected biweekly to monthly from August 1987 to September 2020 in the interior of the Ría de Vigo and its adjacent shelf, at four stations with depths ranging from 29 m to 148 m. Data were acquired using MARK III, Sea-Bird Scientific 19 SeaCAT, SBE 9 Plus and SBE 25 Sealogger CTD (conductivity, temperature, depth) profilers. They were processed using Sea-Bird Scientific's Seasoft software package, and subsequently, quality controlled with both ctdcheck (https://github.com/PabloOtero/CTDChecker) and Ocean Data View software. The Universidad del Caribe responds to the demand for technical support for a workshop with the aim of verify environmental parameters with the use of Technology Applied to Information Registration and GPS, for the monitoring of points of interest, like define the study area, its physical description and its natural context, operate measuring instruments and apply measurement procedures and create databases and metadata. Likewise, CTD cast were carried out to have a database with future application to mariculture, with the purpose of contributing to the economic development of communities in Quintana Roo through economic diversification and regional cultural identity and promoting fair trade and solidarity that favor the production and consumption of original products.This activities of the Node for the Promotion of the Social and Solidarity Economy (NODESS) called Selva, Mar y Comunidad Pre Registration Folio SINCA_PNSS_20_00009_INAES, made up of the Universidad del Caribe, Directorate of Economic Promotion of the H.
