EMODnet Central Portal migrates to the 'Europa.eu' domain
The EMODnet Central Portal - EU’s gateway to in situ marine data in Europe and beyond - has moved to an European Commission (Europa) web address: emodnet.ec.europa.eu! This repatriation under a 'europa.eu' subdomain is an important milestone and reflects the long-term commitment of the European Commission Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) to EMODnet as a trustworthy and reliable operational service.
The work of EMODnet is at the heart of DG MARE activities and it is amongst our highest priorities to ensure its continuity, sustainability and development.
DG MARE Policy Officer Zoi Konstantinou further explained that
The Europa repatriation is the first step towards single point access for all EMODnet data, another crucial milestone to support the Commission’s green and digital transitions and all blue economy sectors.
The new look and feel brings the EMODnet Central Portal fully in line with the EC online visual identity shared with other EC branded harmonised websites. While the appearance has changed, the content and features remain the same: users can still navigate from the Central Portal homepage to all of EMODnet’s thematic data, data products and services as well as explore a wealth of information on the many past, present and future EMODnet activities and projects.
To ensure a smooth transition and streamlined user experience, all web addresses or URLs of the old ‘emodnet.eu’ pages will be automatically redirected to the new web address, maintaining all operations as normal for any user that may wish to discover and use EMODnet resources.
