EMODnet Biology was invited to provide the regional (European) perspective to the International cooperation and coordination in advancing ocean observing and addressing related challenges.
The meeting took place during the week of June 6th-10th at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Several experts were invited to present their contributions on the topic ‘Ocean observation’, which took place over five morning and afternoon sessions.
EMODnet Biology’s presentation was one of the very few that addressed a data system and the data publication aspect. The presentation entitled ‘Strengthening ocean observation value chain through regional cooperation: lessons from EMODnet Biology’ is available on the meeting’s website and can be viewed via the UN webTV channel .
The presentation showcases EMODnet Biology, objectives, main outputs, our consortium and projects and initiatives we are involved in. It also provides a high level overview of VLIZ, the organization host and coordinator for EMODnet Biology and it’s widespread partnership with organisations from various parts of the world.
