On April 7-8, 2025, the EMODnet Steering Committee (SC) convened online for its 22nd meeting. The open session featured EMODnet SC members, the EMODnet Technical Working Group (TWG), and representatives from the European Commission (EC), including JRC, DG MARE, and DG DEFIS, as well as the EU agency, CINEA. Chaired by Jan-Bart Calewaert, Director of the EMODnet Secretariat, the session included presentations on EMODnet’s engagement with key 2025 EC consultations, the EMODnet Vision 2035, updates on the EMODnet Portal, and insights from EMODnet thematics, Data Ingestion, EU and global partnerships.
The closed session focused on operational discussions, including EMODnet external communications, planning for the upcoming EMODnet Jamboree and Open Conference 2025, and updates on EMODnet Use Cases and Data Sharing Success Stories. Additionally, there were discussions on stakeholder engagement, including a dedicated EMODnet for Business roundtable for NGOs in Autumn 2025.
