EMODnet Biology’s Coordinator was a keynote speaker at the MARBLUE conference in Constanta, Romania, during the latter part of October. Planning is also underway for the EMODnet Biology workshop, which will focus on EU research projects and is scheduled for November 19th and 20th. You can sign up for the workshop via the link: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/f780179c-6cda-8bd4-df23-e85eaf6993e1
EMODnet Biology’s Coordinating institute VLIZ also presented alongside Mercator Ocean International at a session of the Ocean Best Practices System (OBPS) online workshop VIII focused on “Best practices for enhancing data and services interoperability in DTO” with concrete examples from marine biodiversity projects and data services. (see EMODnet for EU DTO article in the October 2024 EMODnet news digest for more information).
Additionally, we have also republished an external product that provides information on the abundance and coefficient of variation of Loggerhead turtles (Caretta Caretta) in the Mediterranean. More information can be found here.
EMODnet’s Biology experts are working hard to start publishing marine genomics data, so keep an eye out for more news in the coming months!
