EMODnet Biology supports the biodiversity community by republishing products

The 3D habitat suitability map of commercial fish species from the Atlantic Ocean was created by a team at the Basque Research and Technology Transfer (AZTI) and used various predictor variables to calculate the probability of occurrence of 30 fish species. The product covers not only the Western Atlantic, but also the Arctic Ocean, Mediterranean, North and Baltic seas.  More information can be found via the metadata record: https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/geonetwork/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/6d617269-6e65-696e-666f-000000008057

The remaining products were created by a team at the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) and are modelled projections of habitat for fish around North-Western Europe with a climate change scenario with a time coverage from 2020 to 2060 and the other for 2010 to 2095. The outputs are in the form of a probability of occurrence of said species and species feeding guilds depending on the Emission Scenario and chosen timestamp. More information can be found via the metadata records: (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/geonetwork/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/6d617269-6e65-696e-666f-000000008522 and https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/geonetwork/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/6d617269-6e65-696e-666f-000000008598)

Publishing external products is quite a valuable approach for EMODnet Biology as it allows the thematic lot to rely on expertise found outside the consortium, at the same time that it provides more visibility to project outputs that could be useful for EMODnet users.
