EMODnet Biology’s new product: Biomass-Weighted Fish Functional Feeding Traits for the Northeast Atlantic

News article |

The combination of the below information reveals the spatial and temporal changes in marine ecosystem structure and functioning across the Northeast Atlantic shelf seas.

The values represent the relative contribution of fish biomass supported by different prey along two feeding trait axes: benthos vs zooplankton prey, and smaller vs larger prey including fish. This product complements the feeding guild classifications external product published last year, by providing a more nuanced perspective of ecosystem status and its change over time.
