On the 11th of May, the EMODnet Secretariat organised the 9th European Atlas of the Seas Steering Committee meeting, which was joined by members of different EU institutions including DG MARE, CINEA, EEA, ICES, JRC and EUROSTAT. After a successful 2021, during which the Atlas was visited over 147,000 times, the Steering Committee was eager to hear what is next for this interactive webtool providing marine information to the wider public. The Atlas team presented the planned feature and content developments, web traffic analysis as well as the promotion plan, which aims to further increase and diversify the Atlas' audience and boost ocean literacy across Europe.

The minutes of the 9th Steering Committee meeting for the European Atlas of the Seas have been published on the Maritime Forum.
