INTRODUCTION

During the afternoon of the EMODnet Open Conference (De Grote Post, 20/10/2015), all participants will be invited to join one of several parallel breakout groups.

For practical reasons, we would like to know which themes you would be most interested in discussing. To have useful and fruitful discussion, we wish to initiate the process well in advance of the meeting and get your feedback on the selected themes as well as collect your inputs on the most important issues to set the agenda.

You are kindly invited to fill in this very brief form to submit your preferences and provide your initial inputs to the discussion. The form contains 6 questions of which only the first two are compulsory and should not take more than a few minutes to complete!

The main aim of the Breakout discussions is to identify the main challenges related to marine data management and sharing in Europe as well as help identify how well the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) is currently addressing these challenges. This should lead to an open discussion on the elements that should be retained as well as provide insight in the aspects which could be addressed or improved by EMODnet in the future.

As a starting point for the discussions, we have provided a set of broad thematic areas (please find a brief description of the topics here), but we rely entirely upon your views, knowledge and expertise to set the agenda and steer the discussions during the event.

For more information about the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) consult the EMODnet information pages or brochure.
