From 13 to 18 April, the EMODnet Geology-Caribbean Workshop took place in the cities of Santa Marta and Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, organised by the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME, CSIC), the Association of Ibero-American Geological and Mining Services (ASGMI) and the Geological Service of Colombia. Representatives of eight geological services attended the workshop, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Dominican Republic, and ASGMI.

EMODnet Geology has started a new phase, which began on 25th September 2025 and will continue for two years, followed by a potential two-year extension. The project is coordinated by the Geological Survey of Finland GTK and implemented by a consortium of 39 partners and subcontractors. Most participants are members of the EuroGeoSurveys network, supported by other organisations with valuable expertise and data.
On 3-6 June 2025, EMODnet Geology convened its final project meeting of the current phase in Reykjavik, Iceland.
