EMODnet experts were on the ground in force at the EGU 2026 General Assembly in Vienna (3–8 May), with presentations spanning Geology, Chemistry, Bathymetry thematics and with experts from EMODnet’s Central Portal and Secretariat also showcasing EMODnet’s latest contributions to the EDITO booth showcasing the capabilities of Europe's Digital Twin Ocean.
From 13 to 18 April, the EMODnet Geology-Caribbean Workshop took place in the cities of Santa Marta and Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, organised by the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME, CSIC), the Association of Ibero-American Geological and Mining Services (ASGMI) and the Geological Service of Colombia. Representatives of eight geological services attended the workshop, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Dominican Republic, and ASGMI.

On 24 November 2025, the EMODnet Partner network — comprising 133 organisations from 33 countries — gathered in Brussels for the EMODnet Partner Jamboree meeting, ahead of the EMODnet Open Conference 2025. EMODnet Geology has started a new phase, which began on 25th September 2025 and will continue for two years, followed by a potential two-year extension. The project is coordinated by the Geological Survey of Finland GTK and implemented by a consortium of 39 partners and subcontractors. Most participants are members of the EuroGeoSurveys network, supported by other organisations with valuable expertise and data.
