Behind EMODnet’s harmonised marine data offer lies a continuous effort to ensure that data, products and tools work together as one coherent system. This is the role of the EMODnet Technical Working Group (TWG): a forum where technical experts from across the EMODnet partnership come together to coordinate development, address shared challenges and guide the evolution of the infrastructure while ensuring optimal user-friendliness.

On 23 September 2025, EMODnet hosted an online workshop, “EMODnet Marine Knowledge for Non-Governmental Organisations” in collaboration with the European Commission’s DG MARE. The event brought together experts from EMODnet and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) working in the ocean domain from across Europe at local, National, regional, European and global levels.

From showcasing the innovative EDITO platform to unveiling groundbreaking marine data and science advancements, EMODnet’s presence underscored its pivotal role in the global ocean data ecosystem.
On April 7-8, 2025, the EMODnet Steering Committee held its 22nd meeting online. The open session included key updates on EMODnet’s 2025 initiatives, such as global and European partnerships, and updates to the Portal and from the EMODnet thematics.
