Registration is now open! Data for the UN Ocean Decade – A European focus

EUMETSAT, Copernicus Marine Service, the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet), the ECOP Programme, and the UN OD Coordination Office are excited to announce the launch of a series of webinars, focusing on how European initiatives data sources can contribute to the UN Ocean Decade goals of sustainable use and protection of our oceans. The first webinar will provide an overview of the available data and offer participants the chance to suggest topics and discuss challenges in accessing marine data.

Ocean acidification (OA): EMODnet experts join workshop with NOAA and UNESCO on OA global data management

On 7-8 May EMODnet Chemistry joined a hybrid workshop in Venice (Italy) and online which also brought together experts from ICOS, NOAA and UNESCO to discuss how to manage ocean carbon system data on a global scale. Monitoring and reporting ocean acidification data is an important prerequisite for minimising and combating the effects of ocean acidification, which is one of the targets of Goal 14 "Life Below Water" of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

EMODnet Geology celebrates Coordinator and extends collaboration with Seabed Habitats

The EMODnet Geology partner meeting was held at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) headquarters in Espoo, Finland, on 14-17 May 2024. Dialogues with Industry

The Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS), Marine Technology Society (MTS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and industry partners launched a new Ocean Decade action: Dialogues with Industry - a forum for compact and meaningful dialogue with new and established companies, academia, and government.

Through a successful and thriving mix of the public and private technologies and players, Dialogues with Industry will aim to dismantle barriers and highlight opportunities towards achieving a mature, vibrant ocean observing enterprise.
